The population of Ecuador is about as large as the population in the Netherlands. Ecuador has a large ethnic diversity. More than half of the population consists of mestizos, a group of mixed Spanish-native descent. Between 7 and 25 percent consists of indigenous peoples in the Andes region.

The rest of the population consists of descendants of Spaniards and of African slaves who were brought to South America by settlers. Hospitality of the population is great and other elements such as infrastructure is sufficient enough for every type of tourist, so don’t hesitate visiting Ecuador!
